Rinse-type antibacterial agents (also known as antibacterial soap) need to be rinsed with water after use, including hand wash /soap and shower gel. The FDA has not confirmed that such products are more effective than ordinary soap or water in preventing diseases. Therefore, the FDA agrees to the CDC's recommendation on using ordinary soap and water to wash hands.
Disposable antibacterial agents include hand-washing disinfectant or antibacterial wipes, which will remain on the skin and can be used without soap and water, without washing after use. The FDA subdivides disposable antibacterial agents into sanitary and consumer antibacterial agents. Sanitary antibacterial agents are mainly used by professional medical staff in hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices, outpatient clinics and nursing homes. Consumer antibacterial agents are mainly suitable for use in homes, schools, daily care or other public places.
